During my latest trip to Ecuador I had the luck of watching a very unusual bird coming to the feeders, the incredible swordbilled hummingbird. They usually avoid sugared water feeders, but this specimen seemed to be brave enough to visit from time to time. I realized this was going to be a very intense week, and instead of travelling the country I decided to get as many swordbilled pictures I could. After six intense days, and at the very last afternoon, I got one of the most unusual captures of my life. Definitely a once in a lifetime shot also from a VERY VERY SHY specimen, the amazing sword-billed hummingbird.
